Six Years of Heartfelt Giving: MH’s Journey of Support and Care
On December 5th, against the backdrop of a crisp winter morning, the MH Volunteer Association embarked on another meaningful mission. For the sixth consecutive year, their destination was the Fenghua Qihang Sunshine Home—a haven for children with disabilities. This annual visit is not only a testament to MH’s commitment to social responsibility, but also an embodiment of care, compassion, and a firm belief in creating a better future for those in need.
Sunshine Home and Its Brave Residents
The Qihang Sunshine Home supports 48 children, each affectionately referred to as “angels with broken wings.” These children grapple with disabilities that have brought about untold challenges, yet their resilience is inspiring.
This year, two poignant stories emerged—those of Xiao Xiao and Han Han. Xiao Xiao, a bright eight-year-old with mild cerebral palsy, should have been enjoying a warm, nurturing family environment. However, his only caretaker, his grandmother, is battling cancer, leaving the family with no alternative but to place Xiao Xiao in the care of the welfare center. Similarly, Han Han, a 14-year-old with autism, can no longer rely on her mother’s full-time care as her family prepares for the arrival of a new sibling. These narratives highlight the urgent need for continued support and companionship for children with disabilities.
Bringing Warmth and Support
During this year’s visit, MH extended care in both material and emotional forms. The association delivered 18 boxes of winter clothing, generously donated by MH colleagues during Thanksgiving, ensuring the children remain warm throughout the cold season. Alongside this, 60 pounds of rice, sourced from MH’s November family charity event, were contributed to provide nourishment—essential for the energetic growth of the children. Recognizing the need for better mealtimes, MH also donated new rice cookers, guaranteeing that warm, wholesome meals are always within reach.
Beyond providing these tangible needs, the visit focused on emotional support. Volunteers spent time with the children, sharing laughter, stories, and unwavering warmth. Every interaction was an affirmation of the children’s importance, helping them feel the love and care of their larger community.
Six Years of Dedication—A Milestone, Not a Culmination
While this year marks six years of MH’s consistent support, it is far from an endpoint. Rather, it’s a significant milestone in what remains a long and ongoing commitment. Through the years, these collaborative efforts have been about more than just addressing basic needs—they’ve fostered a sense of belonging and community for the children.
MH’s dedication reflects its deeply ingrained corporate philosophy of “mutual aid and love.” The association has evolved into a symbol of compassion, inspiring both employees and external groups to rally for a common goal—a world where no child feels forgotten.
The path to supporting these children is long and, admittedly, challenging. No single individual or organization can shoulder this responsibility alone. Yet, when collective efforts merge, seemingly small contributions like a day of companionship or a modest donation can create ripple effects of positive change.
Now is the time for broader action. MH invites individuals, organizations, and communities to join hands in ensuring that love, care, and warmth never falter. Together, these efforts can build a radiant future—a “sky full of love”—for these deserving children.
Be Part of the Change
The MH Volunteer Association’s six-year dedication to the Qihang Sunshine Home underscores a simple, profound truth: meaningful change begins with action. Whether it’s contributing time, resources, or simply spreading awareness, every step counts.
By uniting as a community, we can ensure no child feels left behind, and in the process, create a world anchored in compassion and hope.
